Description
Stig Lindberg was one of the most prolific designers in Scandinavia. For many Swedes, he is representative of the playful design of the 1950´s. Lindberg studied at the Swedish State School of Arts, crafts and design in Stockholm, hoping to become a painter. After graduating in 1937 he accepted an employment as a faience painter at Gustavsberg pottery under Wilhelm Kåge. Here the beloved Eva print is relaunched in the “fika” plate, 7 in (18 cm). Eva is the “”female”” pattern, while Adam was the “”male”” pattern designed by Stig Lindberg. Fika which in Swedish means to have a little snack or take a coffee is what Gustavsberg had in mind when they created this small plate. Pair it with the Gustavsberg Eva tea cup set to make a wonderful setting for yourself or guests.
